Devotion
Presented by: L.A. Dance Project
Devotion is a site specific performance, by artist and choreographer Madeline Hollander, featuring 12 dancers from L.A. Dance Project and an original score by the composer, Celia Hollander.
Six duets perform on rooftops, balconies and fountains, creating a dynamic constellation that extends throughout the Neutra VDL House. The choreography is guided by Robert Frost’s poem, “Devotion" – the dancers’ bodies articulate each letter of the poem, physically reciting the words from beginning to end.
Costumes designed by Madeline Hollander and constructed by Rosalida Medina.
This is part of an ongoing performance series, The Movement Sessions, curated by Kaylee Gibson.

The heart can think of no devotion
Greater than being shore to ocean -
Holding the curve of one position,
Counting an endless repetition.
